DIY: Landelijke Mand !

Succes!

DIY Country Basket!

After painting the church bench and diningtable, I find painting fun again and I want to paint more things!
All of this time the dark brown basket was standing in the living room, it is a nice storage place for all my balls of wool and crochet cotton, only the dark brown color I did not like.
Yesterday I therefore picked up my brush and painted over it!
This time not with white chalk paint, but the new color (linen) which I had ordered from www.verftechnieken.nl. It is a somewhat gray color with a slight green undertone, very natural and I truly like it!

In preparation, I emptied the basket and cleaned it a bit with a damp cloth.
I let the basket dry and then I paint it only once with the chalk paint. I have used a graining brush (wide flat brush) it really paints easy and you achieve a good result.

In half an hour I had painted the basket and about half an hour later it was already dry!

I have placed the image above in Word and turned this so that it is, as shown on the A4-sheet above.
Print the image as large as possible. (click on the image, download and save to work with it)
To use the template more often I first laminated the printed sheet.

With a craft knife I carefully cut out the figures within the black lines in the figure 8, I first cut the teardrop holes, then the outer lines of 8.
After everything was neatly cut out the template, I have stuck the template to the basket with a few pieces of tape.
The number 8 needs some extra attention, you need to stick the droplet shaped pieces also on to the basket in the opening of the 8, so that it forms the 8 as printed.

Use for stenciling the numbers, quite a large solid round brush, dip the tip into a little bit of paint and wipe first some excess paint from the brush by just rubbing over a piece of cardboard, so the brush is not too wet, and you can use throbbing moves to apply paint in the figures.

Once you are done with stenciling you can directly remove the template from the basket.

Take two steps backwards .... it has become time to admire your DIY basket!

Success!
